to fix the Quest.....and I need help. repost for the day crowd cuz I still havn’t found the parts

Kinja'd!!!

I need a cat-back system. My go to RockAuto doesn’t have it. The only other part I’ve found is almost $600

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Yes yes, it would be awesome to put that on the minivan, but if i was going to put go fast items on something, it wouldn’t be the van, and my wife would probably complain louder than the new exhaust and I’d be replacing it again.

This is the actual part the is leaking :

Kinja'd!!!

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

but from my wife’s trip over the curb a few months back, the cat-back system is welded to that part, so i have to replace both that and the cat-back. I’m having a tough time finding cat-back system. Help!!!!!!!!!!

Easiest thing to do would be to remove the old pipe, measure the piece you need to cut out, cut it out, weld a new resonator on (use universal part), and bolt it back on.

If you don't have a means to weld, cut farther away from it and just use exhaust connectors (pipe slips over pipe and you clamp it on).

Any help I can offer would simply make it a Journey...and you don't want that.

Before I know it, that Journey would be turning into an Odyssey. At that point, I’d be a Pro, a Master of T ransit.

Amazon has the 04-09 or whatever for $15 0... but, that doesn’t help. It looks like almost same as that eBay   listing above

Have you tried LKQ? Maybe even the dealership just to get a quote? And I thought getting an exhaust made was cheap,  like 300-400 bucks.

Lou’s is everywhere there is actually one in my town. Tey Iwelded the thing back together after my wife ripped it apart.  I  can’t imagine that being cheaper than $500 for a new one though

Ha! No kidding. I’ve never seen one, but I have friends who have gotten exhausts there and been very happy (not super loud, just “not factory”) - but yeah, it’s gotta be more than $500.

looks like they don’ t get into exhausts except for manifolds.  Thanks for the suggestion though

my father also had them do a system on his T100.  IT was nice but probably not for the van.

So what part are you looking for? The one you circled? Why wouldn’t you just get the whole thing like on your ebay link? That does include what you need, doesn’t it? And since the exhaust probably needs replacement anyway, wouldn’t that be the best route?

There’s another one, same thing it looks like, just more expensive

I need the part that you included in your reply  but also the rest of the system from that assembly back which i think would be called a cat-back system.  I’m having no luck finding that at a reasonable price.

Hmmm. Maybe just try something like a random chain shop like a Meine ke?  Granted, the Quest isn’t the most popular minivan around, but there are still some on the road.  You would think they would have some kind of off the shelf fix for it, perhaps?   You can’t be the first person this has happened to.

What is the VIN? I can look up the factory exhaust and give you my pricing (I work for the luxury division of Nissan) so I get it a bit cheaper.

I think the “reasonable price” is the kicker here.

https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-tube-assy-exhau~20020-1jr0a.html $881

https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-muffler-assy-po~20350-1ja0a.html $328

https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-muffler-assy~20100-1ja0a.html $484

Plus all the gaskets and bolts in between. This is if you want to keep it OEM quiet and such. With the last years 11-16 there may not be enough for aftermarket places to invest in making replacements.

If you get that stainless Megan kit, those won’t rust out.

From walker exhaust website, no part numbers for what you need:

For the catback system:

Front y-pipe with post-converter part # 20020-1JR0A $885

Front muffler 20100-1JA0A $492

Rear muffler 20350-1JA0A $339

Apparently I do not get any discount prices on Nissan parts, and we can no longer order them through parts catalog . I would have to order them on the commercial side using my dealer’s account with purchase order from a Nissan dealer. I won’t be saving much as they already sell parts near cost. Weird. The parts do not interchange with Pathfinder/Qx60 so I can’t skirt around it. Boo.

o wow thats $$$$.  The muffler shop thinks it will be $350 for the cat-back.  I’m thinking i’ll probably go with that at this point.
